Children of São Paulo schools ware receive by Saracens Bandeirantes to know the Sport and have the first contact with the oval ball
Band-Sarries received this Saturday (20), in their field, boys and girls from two elementary schools. 42 students participated of the clinic. The gathering Mark the second round of the initiative, when the trainers of the club visit the schools to teach rugby.
Band-Sarries funded the transportation to the students that live for from Ibirapuera. Divided between boys and girls, the young athletes ware anxious to movement the oval ball, that they only see one time at school. “Their world is football, but some of the students fall in Love for rugby in a heart bit and now they have the opportunity of show that interest living a onetime life experience. They are very happy” analyze the school teacher Taís Oliveira Bezerra.
The lawn was divided in to four spaces, so can be organized several types of activities, separated by coaches of the base categories of the club, to M7 from M19. After a quick talk with Valter Sugarava, began the training: control of the ball, line pass, run and contact with tackle bag. The club president Joaquim Mina also participated of the reception of the activities.
“The goal is for us to do the youth start training earlier each time. The best scenario will be if they start with six years old, so can they lose the fear of contact. At nine years old, they began new work training with the ball and the next step is tactical and technical learning. The children that follow this path will be ready to play in high level with 18 years old”, recommends Mina, also coach f the categories M11 and M13.
The important thing is having fun – Japinha, having Mina as an example, hopes that the clinics inspired the children so they can stay in the sport. “The idea is to offer similar rugby trainings that athletes all ready practice, so they can know how much fun is disputing de Ball, fall on the grass, get back on their feet and keep running. The most important thing is having fun”, says the coordinator of the event.
While the children train and having fun, the club coaches analyze closely the dedication and performance of each one. After the analyses of the technical commission, the players that stand out will have the opportunity to training with the bases categories. Band-Sarries funded transportation and alimentation to all.
The club goal to achieve 1.500 students in 2014 with rugby was all readymade, passing 200 children until September. After the visit, the schools that show interest are invated to spend a day on the club.
