Bandetes win over Rio Branco on the dispute of the third place and continue with the deputy leadership on the tournament.
The woman’s team of Band-Sarries achieves the third place of the second phase of Paulista Championship of Rugby Sevens, which took place on SPAC, Sunday (27). With two victories against Portuguesa, 43 x 0, and Jacareí, 17 x 0, and a draw with São José with 5×5 points, the team ends the first round on the second place of the pool B because the tries scored. The Bandetes ended the tournament unbeaten, winning by 40 x 0 from Rio Branco, on the dispute by the third place. On Super 10, despite of the negative score, 27 x 20 for Farrapos, the bandeirantina team comes back from Rio Grande do Sul with a defensive bonus point.
The woman’s team work that began on the first phase of Super 7’s, in Belo Horizonte, was sustained. In four games, three different formations took place, because of injuries and strategy of the matches. “We are glad by facing the evolution of the team, since last week we lost by 15 x 7 from São José and this weekend we achieve the draw”, told Juliana Modaneze, manager Bandeirantina.
Vice-champion at the first phase, Band-Sarries stay on the second place opn the Paulista Championship in general classification, with 34 points, draw with São José. SPAC maintains the leadership, after wins one more phase. Between the individual talents on the tournament are Iris Coluna, the second point maker, with 52 points and Xaxá, in eighth position, with 30 points. The leader is Victória Johane, from SPAC, with 63 points.
