Band-Sarries U19 debuts new kit winning over Jacareí for Paulista U19 Championship
The M19 team debuted it’s new Band-Sarries uniform, after the partnership with Saracens FC in England, with convincing victory over Jacareé by 17-3, this weekend in Arena São Paulo (PET in Tatuapé) and jumped into the fifth position. The leader of the M19 Paulista Championship after the second round of the second stage is Pasteur, also from São Paulo, just the next opponent Band-Sarries U19 on the next September 7th.
“Our game with Jacarei was well played, we dominated from the start and managed to set the pace with many good kicks. Marcelo (number 10) played very well, making the scrum act only in the attack field. With the command of Leozinho, one of the highlights of the match, we forced the opponent to play under pressure, almost always on the defense”, analyzed coach Marcos Proenca, also known as Panta.
The game was always open for both teams attacking, but with more possession of the Band-Sarries. On defense, the São Paulo team fulfilled spaces without giving the opportunities to the opponent with an aggressive defense. The Jacarei opened the scoring with a penalty early in the match. The Band-Sarries turned the score with a try in the first half.
“In the second half we did two tries with quick plays with the back players that could convert them and settle the game” Panta praised. The tries were scored by Leo, Gudem and Beto, with a single conversion from Marcelo. The coach also noted that the Band-Sarries was missing three players in that match: Rodrigo, Purper and João, who where training with the Brazilian U19 National team.
