Collective effort of Bandetes continues to bring results in Super 7s
The women’s category of the Band-Sarries traveled this weekend to Niterói, seeking to apply their efforts within the field. Again in a disputed group, facing in the classification SPAC and Niterói clubs, the Bandetes managed to apply their defensive system, even with the defeats of 15×14 and 20×5, respectively. In the third game of the day, the Band-Sarries managed to make the classification 48 x 0 in dispute with Guanabara.
On the second day, first match was against the current leaders in the championship, the Charrua, which presented a hotly contested first half but ended up losing by 22 x 0. In the semi-final of silver cup, Band-Sarries won Vitória by 19 x 5, going to the dispute fifth place on the Super 7s series second round, facing againd the Paulista opponent Paulista SPAC. This time, the white and blue team had a better performance on the field, winning 19 x 0.
In this championship we give continuity on the universal formations, four formations being held during the tournament. “Although the intention is always to win, we’re happy with the outcome. Our team climbed three positions from one series round to another, even in a league in which the teams have been developing for high performance, showing that we are able to achieve of our goals”, said Juliana Modaneze, manager of the group.
Men’s team suffers setback at Natal/RS
The game on Natal against the Armstrong Dragons showed a Band-Sarries still setting up during the competition, young athletes and several injured players gradually returning to action.
Although dominating possession in approximately 60% of the time the team was unable to conclude and Dragons counter-attacks were very well executed, besides solid base game the home team knew how to neutralize Bandeirantes Sarracens and secured a important victory by 29 x 10.
For Band-Sarries left the feeling that they could have done better if they had achieved to complete their moves, moreover the defensive sector was the bad point of the afternoon on Natal, with errors that resulted in significant scores of the opponent.
The next journey is next Saturday, August 23rd, at the Arena Paulista (PET) against the Curitiba Rugby for the 5th round of Super 10.
