São Paulo (SP) – SP Saracens Bandeirantes showed this weekend in Ivoti, Rio Grande do Sul, an evolution in his Seven-a-Side team comparing with the last few years.
In the first leg of the national tournament, called Super Sevens, the team played some pretty good games, including the first one, against Desterro, when Band Saracens lost by just one try, finishing 17 to 12 for the team from Santa Catarina, which was the champion of the event.
The second and third games Band Saracens won with good scores: 31 x 0 against Niterói and 38 x 7 against Brummers, finishing 2o in Group A and advancing for the gold quarter finals.
On Sunday Band Saracens got a tough game and lost to Jacareí by 15 x 0. The silver semifinal was against Pasteur and they won by 15 x 14. Band Saracens played the 7th place decision against Niterói and won by 31 x 7, finishing the tournament with 3 win and 3 losses.
CEO Antonio Martoni said the team showed satisfaction with the results: “We are still in the beginning of the work we have planned for the next few years and we can already see some improvement, showing that we are in the right way. I’m sure we will have an excellent season”.
Next leg of the event is from March 14th to 15th, in São Paulo.
