São Paulo Saracens Bandeirantes receives the Paulista Children’s Festival of Rugby and should gather about 300 children and young people playing the sport on Sunday (18) in his field Band Arena at Ibirapuera
The São Paulo Saracens Bandeirantes receives, for the fifth year, another round of the Paulista Child’s Rugby Circuit, on Sunday (18), from 8am. Organized in partnership with the Paulista Federation of Rugby, the tournament will have ten clubs – Band Sarries, SPAC, Pasteur, São José, Jacareí, Projeto Rugby Para Todos, Projeto Rugby em Ação, Hurra, Cougars and Jambeiro - and must gather about 300 boys and girls from 7-13 years in the field of Band-Sarries, at Av. Dr. Dante Pazzaneze, 421, Ibirapuera, with free admission.
The circuit, with eight stages throughout the year, has as main goal, to get the children to enjoy Rugby without the requirement and the pressure of traditional competitions. The format is adopted worldwide in respect of the training and safety of the future athletes, which will begin to compete from the age of 14. There will be a play area with toys, gourmet, and rugby. The categories involved in the festival, U7, U9, U11 and U13, will not punctuate during the event games dedicated solely to encourage the sport.
“Expectations are teh best possible to offer the kids the right tool for them to develop within a family environment,” says Joaquin Gabriel Mina, President of Band-Sarries. “For us it is a great satisfaction to provide events aimed to children, where participants have fun and put into practice what they have been learning throughout the year,” concludes the director.
Also willing to offer children the best learning condition, the CEO of Band-Sarries, expects that the ground work ensure the future of the sport in the country “The project is ambitious. The idea is to take the boys and girls to practice the rugby in high yield so that they have the opportunity to defend a great club and to come, who knows, a Brazilian national team player”, added Antonio Martoni Neto.
The matches will start at 8am and will continue until 15:30. As games in the given categories are closed and delivered deserved medals, starts the traditional Third half for socializing the young players, coaches and families. Athletes of the 1st XV team, as well as managers and coaches, directly are assisting in the organization and production of the festival.
